Axiom 61 buttons only mapping the pitch bend wheel - odd

I'm merrily using the midi mapping in Live 7.0.18 to assign controls to the knobs, sliders and transport controls for my Axiom 61 mk2 and it's working fine. However, when I do the same to the buttons under the sliders, no matter which button I press the mapping is assigned to the pitch bend wheel. Reeeeeeeeally weird.

As an example: I go into map mode, choose "reverb device on", and press the button under the first slider (F1). The midi map list will list the new mapping as "Pitchbend - reverb device on." Once I exit the mapping mode, pressing the button will do nothing however moving the pitch bend wheel will cause the reverb device to switch on.

Am I missing something here? Anyone else seen anything like this happening or know what I'm doing wrong?

1. It depends on which preset you have your Axiom set to. You are also able to reprogram the buttons to whatever you want, and save your own layout. After that, it would be much easier to do assignments.

2. Are you using any kind of Control Surface mode? With such a powerful controller, it is helpful to learn some of the special options that you may have at your disposal

Cheers for the reply, I got it fixed last night and it was indeed answer number 1 that you stated. I'm not used to clever midi controllers that let you decide what sort of message they send and I was dumb enough to just assume it was doing it automatically - I reprogrammed the buttons to send a midi cc and everything works like a charm now. Thanks again for the response!
