Problem with Live and Presonus Firebox

I have an issue with Live and my external soundcard Presonus Firebox. A lot of the times when I open Live it is not functioning: Everything is sluggish, no sound from VST instruments and no play from play button (it lights up green but the transport marker doesn't move, the stop button does nothing but pushing play again turns the button back to gray. Clicking somewhere on the thing that lets you start somewhere on the track doesn't work either).

If i restart the computer a few times, sometimes a lot of times, it works again for a while up to a few hours and then the problem returns.

Live and the Firebox are newest versions, it works fine with software audio devices and the Firebox is communicating with the computer. I'm using a HP laptop (with different firewire drivers than the default ones so no problems with that).

I tried mailing support and have been waiting for a reply for a while, any of you encounter something similar?

I actually had this issue for the first time last night. I believe I had the audio set to the Firebox ASIO, but when I put it back to regular ASIO drivers, it worked fine.

Not good at explaining this, but under preferences, where you pick which audio driver (WME or ASIO) and then you have the option of No Audio, ASIO or Firebox ASIO.

Hope this helps. But I'd like to know what caused it myself for future reference.
