how do i delete a bit off the start of a long sample in session view
i can "set the start to here"
but how do i delete a bit
i usually crop clip by highlighting but if i have a long sample it gets fiddly when zoomed out

In session view, zoom to where you want the sample to start, hit CTRL+E or Command+E to make a cut, do the same for the end, then select the clip title bar and hit CTRL+J or Command+J to consolidate it into a new cut.

in session view when i use ctrl+E nothing happens?
if i drag the file to arrangement view i can ctrl+e to cut
its cool in session view .. i can just drag the start point right-click and select set 1.1.1 here
sometimes i need to change how i do things to use live

Oh, my mistake, I was still thinking in arrangement view. In session view, after you 'set 1.1.1 here', just right click 'crop sample'. That will cut out everything not in the range you have set to play and you can set that range from as zoomed in as you like.
