Universal LFO's and Envelopes assignable to any parameter
Universal LFO's and Envelopes assignable to any parameter
i work with video software called VDMX which has an amazing feature - an LFO section that allows you to create multiple LFO's and then assign them to any parameter whatsoever.
i think this would work amazingly in ableton: under the groove section, create a Universal LFO and envelope tab. LFO's can be tempo synced, free hz or random. once created, they can be assigned to any parameter and the amount can be controlled.
how many times did i want to do a simple 4/8/16 bar oscillation over a parameter - the only option now is drawing in automation which can be tedious.
ableton is so on point for electronic music, this is the only missing feature as far as i'm concerned!
love your work ; )

+1 here, damn would Live be powerful if you could assign LFO's and envelopes to everything akin to Massive... Talk about a sound designer's wet dream. All those built in instruments... all those possibilities.

Re: Universal LFO's and Envelopes assignable to any parameter
word - ive been after something to do this for years now.
each time i assume im missing something obvoius, search a bit, fail and draw the f'ing curves myself.
thats 5 years of trying to draw sine curves with the stupid pencil!
does anybody know of a wave shape plugin to control other parameters???

+1 for lfos in session view...
Re: Universal LFO's and Envelopes assignable to any parameter
Ableton already offer a software solution which can do all of this (and much much more). It's called 'MaxForLive'.

I use LFOs in all my compositions just as much as filter and velocity automation. And that is every where, and all the time!
Ive +1'd so many times on this exact topic, my finger is getting sore.
But here goes again, like OP describes: open a window like grooves etc, and one click assign lfos/envelopes to any parameter in the project, just like the midi learn function.
This would be the best present for years to come, imo

+1 by the way. For a non-M4L solution !

All the lfo wishlist functions are actually in Max4Live, why not you guys try out the free trial. But for me it's cost a bit much m4l didn't offer enough. also, the making our own device is good but the learning curve is just not easy enough and not much tutorial or info to dig deep on the "programing"

give us lfos's !!! native built in !!

If M4L was $100-150 I'd jump all over it.Monchai wrote:All the lfo wishlist functions are actually in Max4Live, why not you guys try out the free trial. +100000 ! I own and I love m4l but it cannot be the answer to everything !Tweaking Knobs wrote:give us lfos's !!! native built in !!
otherwise all the other DAW should stop to develop (actually the development stopping seems to be more an issue of the only m4l oriented DAW... ).
