At least it should help dispel the rumour that they took the grant money and went to live on a beach in thailand.

But taking tiny screen grabs of the most basic functions of just about any music software and calling it teaser? I'm sure they want to keep anything fancy under wraps and everything, but they might as well not have bothered.

From what I can see, it has several tracks and a master channel, a synth with at least 2 oscillators, some kind of routing that can be set to "no input", and what might very well be a low pass filter. There's also a multi-something-or-other.
there's a mute feature too 8O

looks like they are going to have a couple different track views. or maybe just a horizontal view and a mixer view.

Yeah, that pic is sooo underwhelming - makes the project seem like a joke.

I'm excited that ableton will have some direct competition. If they have session view with automation, an modular programming envirorment and is stable I don't know how anyone who use ableton would not like it.

and the best part is that it will force ableton to make their software better to compete. Everybody wins.

Wow. Just wow. If it's possible to pre-order, I will do so based solely on that image.

It was the multi-thinger that sold me.

Beautiful GUI.

I've always liked that clean chunky cartoon style, ala Massive.

I suspect it will be a couple of years before it becomes a viable competitor to Live, but who knows? They've put a serious crew together.

in other news....

Remember: we have NO IDEA what this will be still. Maybe its a self contained enviroment like Reason, and maybe it will only be online. Maybe it wil be an iOS App!

Even if someone created a viable Live competitor, id still stay with Live for something like 3 more years. Because so much of my work is invested in it. And if the Abes add the top 5 user wishlist during that period, I might stay even longer.

I, like other commenters here, am outraged!
Call that a product ??!? The GUI is barely legible, it seems very haphazardly laid out with all those thkngs on top of each other - making it very hard to understand!!1
The non-standard screen shape is very un-pro !! Also, pressing the few buttons I can actually see appears to do nothing!! I can't even get a sound out of it, Logictools pro meanwhile has more buttons and makes many sounds, all of them are excellent.
This is Not pro at all.
