Duplicate library

I had Live Intro and purchased an upgrade to Live 8. When I installed the upgrade, it didn't replace the old library, but merged the two. In instances where the effect preset existed in the initial library, it duplicated it, so in my effects list for a reverb for instance, I now have ROOM and ROOM_1. Does that make sense?

Can I delete the library and reinstall it without any major consequences?
