KORG nanoPad controlling AbletonLive

Post by RedGit » Fri Jul 08, 2011 1:08 pm

Hello!

I would love to use the KORG nanoPad together with Ableton Live.
I´ve installed the latest Driver, but I´m only able to use the
big Pad (sort of Chaos-Pad), and not the nummerized Pads 1 to 12.

That´s a big problem for me, because as a Guitarist, playing also
in a JazzBand using Loops etc, I would like to controll
Ableton Live with my feet.

Any Ideas?
I could need some Help!
Thanks a Lot!

I had the same problem with my nanopad,it was actually broken, so i've sent it back to the retailer and got other working unit. best way to check if the pads are alrite is to use a empty drumrack and hit every pad to see if it sends any midi data with the right note (at least it was the easiest way for me).

That´s a good idea! Thank you! Are you also a Guitarist,
who wishes to controll AbletonLive with his feet?

After this test, I can say: Yes, this nanoPad is broken.
Another clear proof for MidiPads was Ableton Live itself, if
you´re watching the very small light/sqare nearby "Key & Midi",
which gives you an Light-Information, everytime a midi-information
is coming in to Ableton Live, one can easily say, if there is any
life in the midipad, or if it is really broken.

Another thing to check, as noted elsewhere, is that if you have a Logitech webcam installed, the driver can interfere with midi devices. If you have one, uninstall it and try the nanoPad again.

Nah mate, I use Live as a big FX unit for my live noise-improv band. I use the Nanopad to trigger dummy clips and some pre-sequenced stuff from time to time (in addition to the Launchpad).
