APC channel fader help...

Post by IRunGameEP » Sun Jul 10, 2011 1:00 pm

I have my APC 40 setup the way I want (it took me a few days), but one thing that it bothering me is how the channel faders goto +6db. I am trying to avoid hard mapping them because I want to use more then 8 tracks. I thought of putting a limiter on the track, but that really bothers me. Is their some kind of script out or a max for live plugin that stops the faders at 0db?

Don't use a limiter, just use a utility plug set to -6db best solution there is....

It would be easy to use a max4live device to do this, the scale object would do it for you but it seems a lot of effort for the same thing...

That's where you ride the faders.... Limiters on every track will squash the sound imho, use one on the master to capture overall but you decide when a track needs that extra boost rather than the limiter....

Just how i work it anyway....
