Chord Recognition patch like Virtual Guitarist?

Post by RajahP » Wed Jul 13, 2011 1:57 am

Are there any devices for M4L that can do the chord recognition and "transpose a midi track in Live" to match the chord(s) being sent to that midi track?
It could be nice having such a device.. It will be like having a master chord progression track sending data to say 3-4 tracks in live (Bass, Guitars, synth lines) and have these track operate as if one had Virtual Guitarist on one track, Virtual Bassist or Broomstick bass on another and the same concept for synths ect, only much more editable..
Are there any such apps?

There is a program called Zyklus Improvisor, that does what you want. It can record small sequences and uses chord recognition to change those sequences. It's not a M4L device, altough it is made with Max 5.

Tried it, and abandoned it. The send/receive objects, which are essential, introduce unpredictable latency, had enough of it. Therefore I want to spend my time developing a version that works for everyone, not just Live users.
