Finally got round to installing M4L followed instructions to the letter
BUT no presets in libary instruments ,fx ,etc just the standard M4L starter screen but none of the presets
What am I doing wrong or am I a complete dick end of

You'll find a Live Pack with these files in ~/Max5/Support/Live Packs.
Normally it should have installed automatically when you restarted Live after installing MFL, but sometimes it fails.

IIRC, the M4L live pack gets installed as part of installing Max, because different versions of Max have different versions of the live pack.
Whether or not you've paid for Max, you have to install it in order to use M4L. If you haven't paid for Max, you download and install the same file; it's just that it won't let you use it outside M4L. I am about 95% sure that installing Max will install your live packs as well.
