Looking for a Midi effect rack for playing bass parts

Post by nguru23 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 4:12 pm

Hey!

I wondered if it is possible that when I play some chords of a pad, the bass notes are triggered as well in the following ways (1 or 2 octaves below):
-root
Or: -root-fifth
Or: -root-fifth-octave

I know it would be possible to play the chord entirely by just playing the root notes and the midi effect "chord", but I would like to play different inversions of the chords (minimizing finger movement).

I hope someone knows a solution!

Greets timo

P.s. Im new here, so if I put it in the wrong place, sorry!

This is definitely the place to ask (this or Ableton Answers). Hopefully we can help!

If you want to automatically trigger lower notes, I think the Chord MIDI effect is the one to use - set it to double whatever you play a couple of octaves down. I don't think there's any way using Ableton's built-in MIDI effects to analyze the chord and figure out what the root note is.
