Basicly, I have Ableton live 8, an m-audio sound card. And a boss 1200 multitrack recorder. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boss-BR-1200-Di ... B0009VA9T2.
I have a midi cable which on both sides has a midi connection but on one side also has a USB connection for extra options.
my question is, can i connect up my boss unit (because I want some of the sounds on it) to either my soundcard( which id rather not do because it has serious latency issues)or straight into my computer via USB into my computer. When i plug it in, my computer recognises its there. and i have activated it as a midi input in ableton. I understand that you must have a midi track and audio track to input into ableton like this, and i have my midi set to USB MIDI on the input and USB MIDI on the output to channel 1. My audio track is set to EXT in 1 and 2 with the output to master. For 1 is this correct?! 2 When I have my default laptop soundcard input shows up on ableton when i talk into the mic plugges into the boss although theres still nothing out the speakers. But when I have my soundcard set to my M-Audio no input comes up when i say something into the mic and obviously I cant hear anything out of my speakers.
Any help or suggestion on what im doing wrong would be very much appreciated,Many Thanks Francis
