I really think they should do a SP1200 (not a MPC!) app for iPad. While I don't expect it to be licensed from/made by E-mu, something in that style would be great. You know, a solid sampler with a good, easy interface, pitch controls, ring mod, high pass filter, etc...all available right on the front screen, nothing too complex. Maybe even an optional vintage sound mode (which would preferably be not *just* bit reduction, but instead more of a whole package deal like d-16's Decimort plugin)?
I think something like this would be great and would be really suitable for the iPad. Though it'd have to *feel* vintage (though it doesn't have to look clunky or anything), it'd have to feel as close as a touchscreen can get to a real SP-1200.
I know I would buy an app like this, and I'm pretty sure a lot of the hip hop guys and a lot of the house guys would buy it.
The box shape of the sp1200 is perfect for the iPad. Who do we contact to get this going?
is Mr. E-Mu still alive?

Nowadays E-mu seems more interesting in MIDI interfaces and controllers and audio interfaces...

Their website actually really sucks, so I'm not really sure that they're doing much substantial business anymore.
With all the lame beat apps for the iPad that sell like hotcakes, I'm positive that a SP-1200 emulator would sell really well. And you're right - the shape is perfect!
I emailed EMU (all I could find was the customer support email) and told them about your idea of a SP1200 IPAD APP.
Doubt that is the right place to contact but hey....it just might end up in the right hands....WAIT AND SEE !!!

^ I wish there was a keyboard the exact width of the iPad to compliment it in this type of setting for my desk.
Even still, the iMac still looks good on the desk by its design.
