trying to sync MPD32, transport freezes, ableton crashes

Post by apolloXiii » Thu Jul 28, 2011 1:28 am

I'm trying to sync my MPD32 to ableton so that the note repeat tempo is determined from ableton's set tempo.

These are the settings I am using:

MPD32 Input: Track - ON, Remote -ON

MPD32 Output: Sync - ON

Anytime I press the play button (either from ableton or on the mpd) the transport freezes. It stays on play and I can't stop it or stop any of the clips. No audio comes out when this happens. I can still navigate most of the interface, but the transport is untouchable. After this the only way I can close Ableton is to force quit, trying to quit regularly causes it to freeze.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Couldn't help but notice that you're using 8.2.1 with OS 10.7... Are you sure this is not related to the issues in Lion?

I thought that may have been the problem. Lion is great but has proved to be a bit buggy with compatibility on a few things.

If that is the issue what are my options?

From the front page: http://www.ableton.com/answers/mac-os-x-lion
