Hardware MIDI set up help??

Im new to using Live(Live and am using it with a Maschine, Yamaha DX7, MFB Synth II and Nord Lead. My soundcard is a focusrite saffire 6 soundcard

I would like to be able to play in the sounds off the hardware as MIDI into Live but for some reason, while its receiving MIDI signal on my soundcard when I connect up any of the hardware mentioned above, I cant get audio from them and cant get Live to recognise the device on the MIDI setup.

Im probably missing something simple but any help or tips here would be much appreciated

Go to Live-->Preferences and click on MIDI Sync on the left. Find your midi devices midi ports and turn "track" to "on". This midi device should now be available in the "MIDI From" dropdown list on midi tracks. Now set the output port and channel to whichever synth you want to play in the "MIDI To" dropdown on the midi track. "Monitor" should be set to "In" on the midi track too - it is usually set to "Auto" by default. When you want Live to playback the midi in a clip, set this back to "Auto".
