issues with ableton and maschine

Post by technochris81 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 2:00 am

I am running maschine as vst pluggin in ableton 7. i have the midi data processing through a separate midi channel, and i've also rerouted individual drum sounds to separate audio tracks. i'm having clipping noises. is there something wrong with my setup OR is this just a latency/CPU issue?

it is caused probably by a midi loop.

you are sending midi from maschine and midi to maschine.

Setup looks fine to me - i don't see anything that would cause a MIDI feedback loop (Monitor not set to IN, nor track Rec Armed). It is probably due to CPU, etc or perhaps because of bug with Live 7? Perhaps try it with Demo of Live 8 to see if it goes away.

Did you have the noise before changing the routings? Perhaps turn the sounds down in Maschine?

Cheers,
Brian

before i changed the routings, i had it like this:

http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... p?t=112471

at that point, there were some pops and clicks, but they were seldom and i'm pretty sure they went away once i rendered the track.

the problem i had with THAT setup was that i couldnt use ableton's effects on individual drum sounds. that's why i changed it.

i ordered 8 in the mail a few days ago. i'll see if that helps. it also may be useful to know that i have ASIO4ALL installed. it seemed to work fine, but i'm starting to wonder if a new soundcard would be a good idea.

i'm having a hard time believing it could be a CPU issue, as my laptop is a high-end gaming laptop that's less than a year old, but then again, i don't know enough about computers to know if the CPU power that runs games is the same sort of CPU power that runs ableton.

thanks for the help.

You are probably right about it not being CPU. I would just do some tests with Live 8.
