APC40/ableton live 8 issues

I am having an issue with the APC40. When ever I load a song that was previously saved the APC40 will not function. When I start a new song it works and the lights come on etc. Has any one had this issue. Also When I email Ableton tech support They do not respond.
Is this typical? I have not had to use their support before so I honestly do not know. Any tips other than being polite and telling a good technical description of the issue to get Ableton interested enough to respond? Is there a company out there that I could purchase 3rd party technical support from?

maybe try emailing AKAI?? ableton might not respond to apc issues,since it is akai hardware? i have had my apc40 kind of act funny sometimes, not often....it will just not come on.....whenever it does i either turn the switch off then back on, or i do the same with my soundcard.....usually takes care of any issues. of course i am not a professional apc user, so maybe someone has something better?
is it showing up in your midi ports in the preferences?
