MIDI Map to active channel

Hey guys,

Just bought a nanoKontrol2 but I'm having some issues.

Basically what I want to do . Is set the nanoKontrols first volume fader to be used on any active channel I click on. So that I can quickly adjust volumes on the fly while doing a mix down. I don't want each fader on the nanoKontrol assigned to a individual channel. Since I usually have more the 8...

Is this even possible?

Having the need to click on a track to choose it as the one to control in way defeats the purpose a bit of having a controller! Anyway, I don't have a nanoKntrol, but I am pretty sure there is a way that you could change what the nanoKontrol is controlling but clicking on one of the buttons - i.e. create banks of controllers which you can easily assign to. So on bank 1, your 8 faders control cc's 1-8; on bank 2, 9-16 etc etc... The manual should explain how you would do this.

While pressing and holding down the SET MARKER and STOP buttons, connect the USB cable from your computer to the nanoKontrol2

Your stop button will blink

Open the PREFERENCES window in Live, Go to MIDI Sync Tab, then select MACKIE CONTROL for Control Surfaces

Select nanoKontrol2 for MIDI IN/OUT

MIDI Ports : Mackie Control IN/OUT TRACK ON the rest off


Not a bad of a controller for $70 , perfect for automation.
Couple of negatives, Ableton doesn't show you what banks you are on, you can't map muiltiple ableton channels to one fader.
and the faders don't move when switching banks :p
