Hi all,
I've been using Traktor software in combination with a normal mixer for a long time now and I've finally made a step towards Ableton. I really like the session mode to create my mixes for a local radio station (not live) but I would also like to use this software for live performances. I've bought myself an APC40 (and I'm happy with it!).
There is only one thing that's bothering me a lot. I'm used to the looping stuff in Traktor and I'm not able to find a way to do this in Ableton. I like to shorten or longing my loops with the press of a button...
Imagine this situation: I have a track that is ending and I want to loop the end in order to mix in another track. So when the end part is playing, I want to loop 16 beats (instead of 4 for example). After that I want to decrease it to 8 beats etc ... Is there a way (maybe with a plugin or something like that) to do this in ableton?
Kind regards,

Yes with Max4Live.... www.thestudiosessions.org and have a look at Isotonik, does everything you're asking...

Re: Live looping in Ableton Live 8 with APC 40
Yeah I see, but since I don't got M4L (and not really planning to buy it) I would like to know if there are other ways to do what I want. Any suggestions?
PS: I will download the tryout version of Max4Live and will play with it during the 30 days test period. But I don't think this will be the "final" solution.

do a search for on the fly looping, you'll see many many threads asking for the same solution... you may find something suitable, but it will always be a workaround.....
