Have a lesson from someone who really knows what they're doing. A book cannot teach you how to mix imo. Said person may be hard to find... good luck.

I am certain that quite a few of us here empathize with you on this point. However, at the end of the day it all comes down to practice, and when in a multitrack environment I am finding out that it can take many years to achieve a certain level of skill.Dhak wrote: I know that I can find alot of what I am looking for by browsing forums and the internet but I get sort of scatterbrained and overwhelmed. my go: sit down with a good audio engineer on your own music, or on anybody's project, you'll learn so much..........did it for a few of my own CD's, incredible experience, it's like seeing an artist at work. then absorb........and apply, train yourself.
