Sidechaining

Post by stratoholic » Sat Aug 06, 2011 6:00 am

I decided that I wanted to have the mix duck my solo guitar.

I set this up by putting the same compressor with identical settings in every track except the guitar track and the control input for the sidechain was the solo guitar on all tracks.

I thought that there would be an easier way so I tried to do a submix with one compressor with sidechain and all the tracks, sans the solo guitar. I could not get this to work.

Is anyone aware of a simple way to do this with a submix?

You could try grouping all the tracks besides your guitar track and put a compressor on the group channel.
