Akai MPK49 - Controls wont assign in MIDI map mode

I just bought an Akai MPK49 yesterday and have been messing round with it and decided to start mapping things the way I want them. When I go into MIDI map mode on live and choose the control I want to assign I press the button/fader etc on the MPK49 nothing happens. Live recognises that it is receiving a MIDI message as the little light in the top right hand corner flashes but it won't assign my changes - Help -what am I doing wrong?

Do you have Remote on for you MPK49?
