[HELP] Need a new laptop for Live Acts & DJ Sets on Ableton!

I am in a similar positon, except my MBP 15" which I had for less than a year was stolen recently .

I am looking into the Macbook Air 13" i7 1.8 ghz. I liked the 15" a lot; great screen size and I opted for the high resolution but since I travel a lot and the new Air's come with 1440x900 resolution on a 13" screen it might work. I have a 26" external Monitor at home when I need to do some serious work. Does anyone own one. How has the experience been?

I haven't found a more stable option then when i switched to mac. I'm not a mac bandwagon'er or a i-nerd but speaking from experience here, I use to perform with a top of the line dell in 2005-2007 had SO many issues and had the sound cut out twice with audiences 2k+. I've been on a mac since 2009 and never had an issue (knock on wood), if you're not opposed to the mac, it really has been a rock for me (plus with the new ones with quad core and SSD it should perform just as well as others in the market)

Gonna order it today, tough, but I still can't take a decision between the macbook pro 13" i5 2.3 Ghz & the macbook pro 13" i7 2.7 Ghz ...

Only the CPU changes and they both have dual core CPUs... Do I need the i7 for live acts & DJ sets? Is the price worth it ?

you probably won't need that extra CPU headroom, but you can grab macbook pro i5 quad core for the same money

I don't think there is a i5 quadcore on 13"... The first quadcore is a 15" i7 one that cost 1750 € (too much for me)
