with Ableton new features and new devices/content tend to go hand in hand. eg they decide to add a new type of content and then design the features that will enable them to deliver it.

e.g. instead of building the functionality for note off samples into sampler they created the note length effect.

Anyway I'd like to see "Lips" and "Pluck" - physically modelled brass/reed instrument and plucked string simulator.

And please can we have a decent plucked upright bass in the eic.

and more, much more, MIDI fx.

i'm voting for less analog emulation and more digital unique devices. digital doesnt do modular/analog as well as the real thing, so lets see something new that takes full advantage of new ways of synthesizing digitally.

i wanna see some kind of sampler that mixes sounds with something like phase vocoding or convolution... for instance, i built a max patch like this that seperate bands into 5 (lo, lomid, mid, highmid, hi) and it would pull five sounds from each specific folder.. like a kick folder would pull 5 kick wavs so that it would combine the sounds to get a new layered sound

I'd go for optional algos for "Reverb" (keep the old one and maybe add another two)

What about another update to Operator?

Perhaps instead they will do a completely different synth, something insane, which will be a handy little earner.

I own Operator, Sampler, and Analog. I use Operator on almost everything I do.

what Angstrom said on page 1 - modular synth with ability to take anything from itself or another track as a source or destination. Live is halfway there, as far as routing, it would be nice to open it up more.

Also, similarly, ability to trigger something else from the triggers built into the auto filter/flanger.

But I'd really like improvements to workflow, especially stuff like all the threads about automation on here, more than a new device. "Show automated parameters only," for example, which I just noticed today, is awesome.

Imagine routing envelopes and LFOs from one Device to another. Run out of LFOs in Operator? just patch in a new one from another instrument.
Run audio from one device to several others and back again. A 9 voice Operator, Analogue with any waveform.

Control the routing from aftertouch, LFO, Envelopes, pitch, etc. Control the filter delay speed by the Sampler modulation dept. Route Operator as the carrier and Sampler as the modulator for the Frequency shifter. Imagine Live as one huge modular.

and no, I do not want to do this in Max
+1
absolutely up for these!

I would love a semi-modular synth with wave shaping, and granular synthesis.

Nudge buttons that nudge audio clips forwards or backwards to the nearest bar, 1/2 bar, 1/4, 1/16, and 1/32 notes.

The "Redux" device is already a "bitcrusher". In Live 9 Suite (via free m4l) there is an Envelope device included for "Enveloper".
