If you want an inexpensive laser printer, the HP P1102w is $99 at online stores (and some retail stores if you catch it on sale) and is Air Print compatible after a firmware upgrade. If you get this one, I suggest calling HP tech support right away and have them take you through the setup. I discovered it helped to set it up with a static IP. Whenever the printer is powered down, it does not come back on the network without a router/modem power cycle. At least that's how it worked for me.

It's kind of funny watching one person have a conversation with themselves. But then it's kinda not.
It gives me enormous pleasure to know that someone is so annoyed with this iPad thread - and our collective LOVE of APPLE - that they spend the time fucking around.
