This should work!

Anyway: It's acually live this time? The sound quality is significantly reduced!

nice work!

it looks like youre using mesh heads to trigger samples.. using live? can't tell whats going on your laptop.

wondering why you use a full drumkit instead of pads + cymbals. . (love the duct taped mic stands, by the way).

ever think of getting a guy to run the samples live, so you could be totally live (no playback)? that would be killer.

This.

I have thoroughly enjoyed everything you have done Mr. Arkell and I would gladly keep listening to more videos like this.

You could have a very nice live show doing this as well.

Keep up the good work my friend.

ha ha ha ha ha... I came back from a night out once and went on the forum... never a good idea... same goes for the phone... :!:

@duckpow yeah finishing the live set/putting them all together with some extended jams is definatly the next move... but we really need an mc, or even 2 or 3 i think, guest spots type thing... and yeah @swishniak I have considered this, but i think with an mc, and just a few percussion bits and the odd rise on playback would be live enough... I don't like the idea of a dj triggering just the few samples I can't quite manage. we shall see... there will definatly be times when i just wanna rock out etc... all very regimented at the moment.

@observer A, mate thats cool man thankyou... yeah, just need to get it all finished... thats why were gonna stop with the vids for a bit and focus on making it workable/danceable in a club/dancefloor environment.

thanks so much for checking them out... if anyone knows of any london based mc's or people who may be interested in this sort of thing (or who wants to fly us out to europe) do spread the good word...

hi 5 from London

John

Thinking about doing some sort of tutorial video, few peeps have asked... ... does anyone on here want to see anything more clearly?

yes - it would be great if you could do a video explaining your setup.

If I was you, I'd look for an MC and maybe an FX-obsessed experimental guitarist. Someone who is happy to make random weird dubbed-out sounds by playing in unusual ways etc.... got to find someone who understands minimalism and restraint though - often difficult to find a guitarist who can do that!

I'm just thinking about how it could work on stage - adding another layer of sound without resorting to some geek with a laptop :-)

Just my 2p

really cool stuff. think you're onto something here...

ok awesome... will get on the video asap... having some issues with the M9 at the moment tho... everything is on hold... aaggghh!!!

definatly looking for an mc... does anyone know any forums or good places for that sort of thing?

as for guitarist... i might actually know the perfect person.. i used to do this with him, absolute master on ableton and well into his pedals and tones... his name is charlie wilkinson, ridiculous funk player if anyone wants to check him out.... might wait till the set is finished and the mc thing is sorted first.

yeah agree about needing to stick to pads and helping out with controls etc.

thanks man

spread the good word!!
