running smoother on old black macbook
just bought an old black macbook off of craigslist (2GHZ 1G ram) aside from obvious ram and hard drive upgrades, what can i do to make this thing run ableton live smoother.
Re: running smoother on old black macbook
i cleared out my itunes library on mine, and anything that i didn't need..... i got a hitachi 7200 rpm travelstar hard drive.....which is pretty awesome.....and like you said, ram upgrade!!
what year is it? mine is an early 2007, im not supposed to be able to rock more than 2GB RAM......but if you put 2 2GB sticks in there, you can squeeze another GB of ram out of it. so i have 3 GB of RAM
weird right? i also run live on an external previously mentioned hitachi 7200 rpm travelstar.

Definitely get more ram, and look up ways to keep things running smoother for audio production. One thing I found that was helpful was to shut off the airport for example. Open up your activity monitor and see what's going on that you can close.
