Unresponsive instruments

Post by alex1fly » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:01 pm

Hello, I am having a problem with my built-in Ableton Live instruments. At least half of the instruments like Synth Leads, Synth Pads, Synth Strings etc, have recently stopped working. I drag them to a track, arm them and try to play (either with MIDI controllers or by drawing in notes) but get no sound. No green volume bar shows up.

It's as if the sound module, or the content, of my instruments has disappeared.

Some instruments work just fine, and I've made sure to try a lot of different ones, so I know that this is a recent occurrence.

All the instruments show up in my browser.

Live is fully updated to 8.2.2.

Can some light be shed?

Glidesynth Bass SQ
Angry When Sober
Arp Poly Lead
Ballister Field Bells

4 quick examples of presets that I've used in the past (as recently as 2 weeks ago) that are no longer working. Seems to be mainly the Synth Bass, Lead, Pad, and Chord presets that are giving me trouble.

This is a bizarre and disturbing problem. I am going to contact Ableton support directly.

Any chance that those presets are all using the same device (maybe like Operator or something) and you don't happen to have a license for that device?

I'd check to see what those presets have in common but I can't get to an Ableton installation at the moment.

I am having the same problem! The only difference is i got Ableton 3 days ago and to my knowledge most of these instruments have NEVER worked. Was your problem resolved? If so how? Thank you!
