hi
i currently have 5 vst synths in an instrument rack and i have them equally spaced out in the chain selector which is mapped to a knob on my controller so that when i turn the knob i can switch between the five different synths. i would like to try and use buttons on my controller instead but i cant figure out how to map different areas of the chain (ie different synths) to different buttons. i tried the solo buttons for the synths in the rack but they cant be mapped
can anyone help or am i approaching this the wrong way?
many thanks
changing synths using buttons instead of a knob
Re: changing synths using buttons instead of a knob
If you have a number of programmable buttons, you can use different amounts on a specific cc# that all the buttons share.
My personal favorite is using a key range. For instance assigning C1-E1 would make C, C#, D, D# and E each assigned to a different position on the knob. Just make sure it is on a MIDI channel that you do not normally use.
