I doubt I will ever learn how to write in Max. I just use what other people create.
It is just a tool for musicians/producers/tweakers to use. Just like the rest of Live's instruments & FX.
My point is majority of users don't expect buggy Live 8 (or 9) with M4L integration over stable pure Live 8/9. Being different from other daw the stability always came first for Live , the other functions are always second even if it interferes the implimentation of functions.
wrong... L7 was already buggy (at a smaller scale..) that was long time before m4l..
also...
why differentiate between m4l and any other 'feature'...?
what can I say if you're missing new inspiring features get m4l...
(even if you don't "patch"...the extra $$ is worth it for the supplied m4l devices alone..
the option to 'edit' devices internals is Lives' biggest and most important feature to date imho.. )
even with a 2 year pause in major versions... Live is still 10 steps ahead of the flock!
Live+m4l are still the bleeding edge of music production !
if L9 introduces only better resource handling and 'stability' I'd still be thrilled
