is this a bug? pitch bend clip automation

Post by guasamandr » Tue Oct 25, 2005 6:53 am

I don't know if this bug has been reported or not. And more than a bug it's an anoyance: when I want to edit the clip automation for the pitch shift wheel, and I want to set a node point at exactly 0 (no change in pitch) the only way I'm able to do this by maximizing the clip view window all the way to the top, and then back to normal again to keep using the rest of Live.

It seems to me that it should be that, regardless of the vertical size of the clip window, it should be possible to easily create a 0 value node.

yeah, i know what you mean, the 0 value is pretty difficult to get when you try to edit the PB value.
though, i get easily is +/-5, which is almost nothing (the PB max value is 16384, so 5 is a pitch shift of 0.03%... nobody can notice it un less you set your PB range overs 5 octavas).

This is old, but one trick you can do to get back to zero is to copy and paste another clip's zero line section (or another region within that clip that's zero) - if you don't have one, just make a new clip and it should default to zero and you can take it from that one and delete the clip. But yes, why there is no simple way or a toggle-able vertical grid for those kinds of things still astounds me..
