Box without serial - upgrading Suite 8 download

Hi,

I recently purchased a boxed version of suite 8 off ebay. It was a box without serial so I am wondering can i use it to upgrade my downloaded version of Suite 8 to the full boxed version?

I really only bought it to get the reference manual but it would be a bonus if I could use the extras that are on the DVDs.
