hi,
i know there already exist topics about this, but none of them has been able to help me..
let me start off by saying that i'm not new to operator, and i have spent many many hours getting to know how it works. but i still can't get rid of the clicks at the beginning of each note. i have tried everything, but changing the attack (even to multiple seconds) doesn't change anything. it's just 'click' and then after some silence the note comes :/ it happens with any waveform, any release setting, whether retrigger is on or off... weird thing is the clicking stops when i change the number of voices to more than 1, but i really need to have only 1 voice in order to get that cool gliding effect.
is there anyone out there who knows the cause of this really lame problem? it's NOT an attack issue, i wouldn't post this here if i hadn't changed all of the settings myself already.
thx!

Re: operator clicking problem
Does this happen with all instruments you have with operator? If so it might be strange latency issue or something. Pick some premade synth and see if it has the same problem.
I actually had a similar problem a few years ago and realized I was using a midi clip that I changed the volume envelope in the clip. Once I deleted that it came back... Spent hours over that stupid thing. Could be something simple like that.

yes, it happens with every instrument. i've tried some pre-made synths like you said, and they're all doing it as well :/
but i'm sure now that it has something to do with the release, since i've noticed that it happens at the end of each note, not the beginning. so it has to be the waveform of the next note starting in a different position than the previous one (as i read in another post) - that's probably why it's most noticeable with a sine wave. but shouldn't turning off retrigger solve the problem then? because it has no effect whatsoever..

Re: operator clicking problem
sounds like it may be hardware based possibly ? just guessing obviously. Have you tried a different soundcard ? maybe change the latency settings ?
Re: operator clicking problem
my laptop is brand new so it probably isn't hardware based. what exactly are the latency settings?
thanks for the replies btw!

Re: operator clicking problem
which sound card are you using ? I'm guessing just the outputs on your computer ? stuff like this could (and this is a wild guess) be due to some sort of distortion somewhere along the signal path due to the hardware not being able to handle the extremes of frequency generated by softsynths.
latency refers to the lapse in time between hitting the key and getting a noise out of your speakers. measured in milliseconds, and usually very small indeed.
