Hi all, I've been messing around with ableton for several years now, and am completely hooked. I'll get to my point... I've searched a lot on the net for an answer to a question, and have only found partial, makeshift answers....
What i want to do is this.... have several "banks" of cross fader setups that i can quickly switch between. For instance... bank 1 --> kick, tom, and snares on A, high hat, bass, and melody on B bank 2 --> Kick, high hat on A, Melody and Toms on B.... you get my point i'm sure.
If it's not possible to do this in ableton (I don't think it is) is there any way to set this up on the apc40 or on touch-able on ipad?
Thanks in advance.
Cross fader help please!
Re: Cross fader help please!
It wouldn't work perfect, but you could map a fader to the volume of each channel, and invert the B fader, so that you only get the one or the other. It's not gonna sound great though.
Re: Cross fader help please!
Its not really a question of whether or not Live can do this
The question is what are trying to accomplish with this setup?
What im suggesting is there might be a more elegant way of achieving the same thing
Because i'm not really grasping what is that you're trying to do with your ?

Re: Cross fader help please!
is this in the racks or the main tracks
is the racks you can group everything in a rack
have A on one section and B on the other
then go to "chain"
and set A to 0 and B to 1 . This gives you a on/off switch
but if you want a smooth fade
set A to 0-72 and set a small fade from 72-60, then set B to 65-127 with a small fade.
then set this to a knob or fader or button (for on/off)
If it is a case within the tracks all you have to do is set the fader cross over to A and B and on the APC 40 you have a controller already set on the bottom right.
i hope this helps, i think i understood what you want
