Live is one of the few apps that I've actually gone out and paid for. And I NEVER paid more than $60 for ANY software before. I like Live that much.
My only question is: couldn't there be a way to create a rent-to-own type system for software? It seems like it would be easier to get people to pay $20/month until the software is paid off vs. $330 all at once. I realize that the coding and the support costs might be a bitch, but wouldn't it open up the market a bit more?

Some companies offer a yearly subscription license. You own the software in perpetuity, but receive upgrades and technical support while you pay the subscription fee.
Its a business model being pushed to enterprises, for large-scale software such as operating systems or productivity software, or for certain applications (medical and bioinformatics software).
Not sure how well it would work for smaller software companies or for the mostly 'hobbyist' or 'non-professional' user base found here.
