Hey All,
I just started doing dj mixes within ableton and would like to get some tips on the the most efficient approach to file management. To start, I am currently starting a playlist in iTunes with all the songs I would like to use in the mix then copying all of those songs to a file on my external hard drive and dragging the copied files from my external hard drive into ableton as clips. It usually works fine but I have to always carry my external hard drive with me if I want to open the project or else the files will not be found. If i try to just use the original itunes file they are no longer be warped because the analysis file isnt coupled with them. I would open up a file within each ableton mix project folder for the particular tracks I would be using but i dont want to have some many copies of multiple songs all over my hard disk.
Does anyone have any advice for me?
