I'm hoping 5 will fix the itunes home sharing with my ipod; most of the time it doesn't work. Sure I can reset the router, but I shouldn't have to.

i have macbook pro for music (logic, live, reason) but i am stuck at snow leopard because of the lion's incompatibilities issues. everything had to be "easy" in the apple lion commercials, but it is not true, if you upgrade to lion the mac won't work 50% (apple software, too!). And lion resambles an ipad, that is to say a very closed system, with apps, appstore, itunes... everything to buy... ebay, ebooks, etc. it looks like an "os for dummies" and for consumers. I guess this is my last mac, after 12 years of apple computers. I hope free software will be the real option.

Isn't most of your "media" ripped DVD's that you never watch? Are you sure you're comfortable bandying pirated stuff like that around in Apple's iThing?

I have about 8,000 songs in my library which I'm shockingly finding out isn't that much compared to most audiophiles. But even if I had no movies, no TV shows, or no apps on my idevices they still wouldn't fit my entire music library and I don't see Apple making a move to put larger drives on their idevices given their push for the cloud. And I get no joy out of trying to predict what I might be in the mood to listen to in the next couple days or weeks and only putting that on my idevice. With Match I won't have to worry about it as long as I am in range of wifi.

I don't even know if Match covers movies or TV Shows at this point and I'll worry about it if or when that happens, but I'm sure just like syncing idevices you can pick and choose what kind of media you want synced.

I'm willing to bet that a good number of them are being bought by tech geeks who think they are going to be some kind of high priced collectors item some day or something they can tweak around with. It's a low investment even if they completely fry it. There's probably already all kinds of hacker user groups sprouting up for it.

Yeah, I wonder as well. Make no mistake: I was expecting GREAT FUCKING THINGS from HP. It pisses me off that they didn't deliver. I was really counting on a truly Enterprise Friendly platform.

Fuck them and their $99 abortion.

HP were looking up... their laptops and such came back with a bit of a vengence, but then again... they're printer used to be THE SHIT insofar as an office environment was concerned... but alas they stopped manufacturing them in Japan and switched to China... now they are no better than anyone else's really. too bad.

fuck it. the iPad takes the cake. no doubt. if they made an iTunes free version i'd be pawning shit to get one.
