EIC & Session Drums in Live 7 vs. Live 8? Any diff?

Hey folks,

So I'm running Live 7 Suite, and I'm curious if the Essential Instrument Collection & Session Drums are any different in Live 8. I'm debating picking up the upgrade, as I'm trying to get more serious about production. However, I've got Live 7 Suite already, which comes with Session Drums and the EIC. So if I can save $50 and not miss out on anything, that'd be pretty cool.

Anyone know anything about this?

what are you debating? whether to pick up suite or not, or whether to upgrade to suite as boxed or not? the disks are the same (at least for EIC - i have a live 7 box, which in my case came with an EIC disk but not a license, and a live 8 suite box - i didn't have SD for live 7 so can't compare them). Not sure about the pack updates.

But if you upgrade to live 8 suite from live 7 suite, along with all the other improvements from live 7 to live 8, you'll get amp, which is very cool, and not available in live 7 afaik.

if you've already got the licenses, then the difference between the two should only be $40. so then it's mostly if you want the printed manuals. i probably wouldn't bother. you can always order it separately later if you change your mind.

I don't think you can upgrade the program without upgrading everything. Updates to EIC and drums will be in the download, I think.

To add onto this question, I have been using the Live 7 Suite for sometime now, and I want to upgrade to the Live 8 Suite. I already have Session Drums and the EIC, but I'm hoping that I'll still be able to use those instrument packs when I upgrade to Live 8 Suite. Is this possible or do I need to upgrade to the boxed set to get the new installation discs?

I don't think you can upgrade the program without upgrading everything. Updates to EIC and drums will be in the download, I think.

I'm actually pretty sure that those come in the box.
