I have several tracks that I warped in session view and saved the warps. The next day I pull them into the arrangement view and try to lay out 2 tracks over each other and the beats are totally off. I know I warped them right in session view. Anyone give me any idea on how to do this?
The idea is I want to lay out a mix using ableton.
Warped clips not "matching" in arrangement view?
Re: Warped clips not "matching" in arrangement view?
if the clips have different tempos (see clip inspector) they won't automagically line up in the arrangement view; they'll be "relative" to the current arrangement tempo.

right but thats what I want it to do...for example I want to lay out the whole mix in arrangement view with multiple tracks all at 113bpm no matter what their individual bpms are right?

Not sure what's going on, it's hard to figure out exactly what you're doing and what's going wrong from your description.
Some simple stuff: make sure warping is still turned on when the clip is in arrangement view. Make sure that you warped clips to the correct tempo. Make sure that you haven't inadvertently made any clip in the arrangement view the tempo master.
The warp markers are interpreted relative to the clip's own bpm, but they're played back at the current arrangement tempo. So, if you warp a clip at 60bpm but play it back at 120 it will play back twice as fast. If you warp it at 120bpm but play it back at 60bpm it will play back slow. Double check the clip's own tempo to be sure it's set to a sensible value.

Re: Warped clips not "matching" in arrangement view?
Do they start at the right point?
The beginning of a clip can be different than the 1.1.1 point in clip view (where you set the warp markers). Make sure the clip starts at the right point in your arrangement, especialy if you're snapping to gridlines. The snapping point is the beginning of the clip, not necessarily the first beat.
EDIT:
- warp both your tracks so that every beat lines up to the correct barlines in clip view
- Set the clip start and endpoints in clip view
- Move them to wherever they're supposed to be in arrangement view. Since they're warped, they should now line up to the Arrangement view barlines (and metronome!)
- Set the global tempo to whatever you want. The warped tracks with stretch to match.

You can absolutely do this - the basic workflow is:fuzz wrote:right but thats what I want it to do...for example I want to lay out the whole mix in arrangement view with multiple tracks all at 113bpm no matter what their individual bpms are right?
