triggering clips and automating in arrangement mode

Post by greentail » Wed Aug 31, 2011 8:10 am

I know someone has asked this, I'm just looking for a reconfirmation -

for my live performance, Is it possible to have automations running in arrangement (effecting my guitar signal for example with reverb swells, delay times etc.), and trigger clips (beats on the apc40) at the same time? is it possible to turn OFF the 'back to arrangement' or is it simply not possible?

...very frustrating!

thanks

Yes, although I'm the first to get scolded for misunderstanding this stuff myself.
So long as your session adjustments are not on the same corresponding tracks as your arrangement automations. As soon as you run a clip or move something in session that's equivalent automation lane and track will be overridden by your session mix.

Correct.

As long as you use different tracks for Clips in Session View and Clips in Arrangement View.

The Back To Arrangement Button will always turn on if you launch a Clip in Session View, OR if you move a parameter that is automated in Arrangement View.
