APC 40 Red Selection Box Question

Post by midnightstepper » Tue Sep 06, 2011 2:01 pm

Does anyone one know if it's possible to stop the red selection box from moving around the screen? Whilst it's handy when working solo, it can be a bit of a pain when playing live with someone else. There's two of us in our live act and we have two Launchpads, Akai controllers and an APC so it can get a bit confusing.

Cheers :)

If you midi map the direction arrows to something it'll stop you being able to move the box so it'll stay rooted to the top of the screen, are you not using it to launch clips then, or do you want it to move up and down just not left and right??

I don't want to midi map the direction arrows, I just want to be able to leave the box routed there and move it manually if I need to. That way if I need to move the selection whilst somebody else is playing one shots I can do that.

If one shots are being triggered from another controller, the Akai MPK Mini for example, then the selection box will jump to those tracks which is a bit of a pain. I'm looking for a way where either the movement of the selection box can be disabled from the controllers and scrolling can be done via the track pad, or just the APC controls movement of the selection box. If that makes sense.

Thanks D but I can't find that option. Could it be: Preferences> Record Warp Launch > Select on Launch or Select Next Scene on Launch?

Apologies if this seems stupid but I don't have the MPK mini to hand to try it.

on a related topic, is there a way to move the box with the mouse instead of being limited by the lame 125 scenes issue the apc are suffering (or just a tiny less lame 512 scenes of the launchpad)

that will make or break the deal for me

No there isn't, the bank buttons move it past the end scene that can be accessed with shift and the clip launch buttons....

so there is no provision anywhere in teh MIDI scripting to move that box other than the arrows/overview?
i find it pretty hard to believe, what if one were to hach the parameters the arrow send and map them to say master fader for x and cue knob for y axis?

They dont send midi, they use a control surface, youd have to hack the remote script....
