So I DJ in Ableton. I have for about 3 years. I noticed during my radio show last night that a track seemed to be playing faster than I felt it should have been. So I decided to test it with an external bpm counter. With the master tempo set to 136 BPM, playing Modeselektor's Remix of Radiohead properly warped to 133 BPM, I tapped the song out to be playing back at 150 bpm instead of 136 as Ableton was reporting. When I played the source file in VLC it counted out to 145 bpm but the correct and properly aligned warp setting in Ableton reads 133 bpm. The external control/slave mode is off. What would be causing Ableton to fuck up the internal clock like this? Why is it running fast? Why is it appearing that the grid is miscalculating?
I've never seen, or at least noticed, anything like this and am quite confused. Thank you in advance for you help.
EDIT: OK I've tried this now in multiple external BPM counters and it appears the one I have for my phone is flawed. MODERATOR PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD
