newb quest: How do I patch in a snare hit on ONE part?

Post by SyntheticPop » Fri Sep 16, 2011 5:26 am

I am looping one measure in 4/4 time. I have stretched it for over a minute long and just want to patch in snare hits in certain parts for variation. I have the selected snare and effects layered, is there a way to do it other than copying the loop and drawing a beat in the pasted copy??

Thanks and please, I encourage you to laugh all you want

Not sure what you really want tbh lol, emm guessing put overdub on and use your midi keyboard or keyboard to play the snare hits in them selfs in the groove you want on that particular bar etc?.

That's exactly what I want to do, but you should just be able to draw the beats in, shouldn't you? Everytime I draw the beat in, the beat is added to the whole loop. I just want to throw in an extra snare hit or a double snare hit for variation so the beat is not redundant through the whole song. Make sense? What I have done is copy and pasted the areas where I want the changes, but it seems a little annoying and confusing to look at with all these different areas patched in. Thanks,

Brian

Aww right i got ya cause the loop hasint been cut from the rest, you could always just go through the cycles, aka bars and then on every 8 or 16th bar and split the individual loop out of it, or you could loop 8 bars or 16 bars and add your extra 16th note snare at end of bar or whatever note your usuing and then loop the 8 bar or 16 loop, consoldate it and then hit loop in the envelope clip and duplicate till you want the loop to end? wouldnt take half a minute, try that maybe if im understanding what you say?
