Idk, maybe I'm just dumb, but if I'm not mistaken I can manually map the APC40 right? All I have to do is click midi in Ableton and then select what I want to change and what buttons I want to use, etc. etc.
I'm trying to set up my own looping controls, but whenever I try to assign something, nothing shows up in the midi mapping area.
Am I missing a step?

preferences, midi, set up inputs and outputs for remote set to on....
