Waves vst - scan - crash

This is on a Toshiba i3, 320 hard drive, 8 gig ram with Windows7 64 bit with full Live 8. Waves Musician 1 bundle is what I'm trying to load. I've sent reports to Waves and Ableton support. Waves worked with me on and off for two weeks and no luck. Ableton, not so much. I've tried moving files around, removing preferences and so on. On the same lap top I can open Pro Tools and Waves with no problem. I don't have another Windows7 machine to try the combo on. I am loading it on my Vista desk top to see if it will function. This computer is only used for live gigs, no recording.

I thought I'd toss this out there to see if anyone could help.

Loaded the same programs in a 32 bit Vista machine and it works fine.

I have this narrowed down to an OS error. We've had a couple shows to do so I haven't been able to do a clean install on the operating system and reload everything. I'll post the results after I get this done.

I have the new OS disc but can't take the lap top down to install. Too many shows coming up to take the chance. iLok support may have found the problem. Windows 7 Home IE 8 only operates in 64 bit. Windows 7 Pro IE 8 can operate in 32 bit or 64 bit.
I replaced an older Vista machine with one running Windows 7 Pro and it works like a champ with the Waves plug ins.
