DJ SET PREP WITHOUT SOUNDCARD?

Post by kieranholden » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:37 pm

Im working on a dj set in ableton at the mo - so much fun!

I was wondering if importing mp3/wavs in and warping them without a soundcard would effect the quality in any way - i play out with a soundcard - so far ive only been importing if i have the soundcard hooke up (apogee duet2 - nice : ) !

Sometimes i feel like having a noodle with some new tracks whilst my soundcard is elsewhere! ( e.g. at work whilst know one is looking )

hope you can help!

Why don't you just try it?

Nope. No difference.

You're importing digital into digital. Your soundcard only comes into play when you've got analog/digital or digital/analog conversions taking place.

I often go places to work and leave the racks of gear at home. No probs at all.

so don't go precision mixing/mastering on the internal soundcard just yet..
should be sufficient for sketching though...
