I am having a weird issue. I recently re-installed Ableton 8 and updated, to get a fresh start. My MIDI controllers aren't acting like MIDI controllers.
Here's what's up: keyboard still plays notes, but I can't assign any MIDI functions to it. APC40 still does its thing well, except the mixer part has stopped sending messages - i get a message at the bottom of the screen that says something like "midi controller still waiting to send values". but not in every project. and I still can't assign any MIDI functions to it through Ableton's MIDI button, EVEN THOUGH the apc40 still controls everything normally. It's as if my controllers are talking to the CPU, but the CPU isn't talking back
Is there maybe something in my preferences I should set? I don't know what is different about my setup, minus the re-install, and all my controllers hook to the CPU via USB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I keep ironing out Ableton bugs but I'm so close to new great music!
