3rd Party MIDI Effects

i'm trying to use a 3rd party MIDI delay plugin. please explain what i'm missing...

--VSTi on track 1
--3rd party MIDI plugin on track 2
--track 1 MIDI input set from track 2
--track 1 record enabled

the midi clip notes in track 2 are sent but not the effect from midi plugin

you are not doing it right

track 1 chain: midi delay-instrument
no need for track 2 (a midi delay is just repeating notes with lower velocity)

the way you used it, you'd need to select track 2 third party delay, not track 2 out as the midi in

first, i'm not trying to get that kind of delay effect

the midi delay i'm using is here: midi random note delay

also, if I put this delay in track 1 the VSTi gets replaced

I didn't know that was in the 2nd dropdown. this is actually what I needed to do

i imagined since you didnt mention the plugin

and it seems this midi fx declares itself as an instrument if it replaces the vst you have loaded, a midi plugin shoul inserts itself in front of the vst like the arp or chord module, not your fault tho, seems its by design of the plugin
