Mid 2009 Macbook Pro Soundcards

Post by mid_knight » Sat Sep 24, 2011 1:37 pm

Hi i was wondering what you guys use for soundcards. I was using the original apogee duet, but soon i figured out that i would need more audio inputs. So i ordered the Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP. I had read only one bad review, saying that this soundcard would not work on newer macs but this was the only bad review i had seen. I figured it must just be a problem he was having, but no. The soundcard won't even show up as a device in my audio preferences. It's also a firewire 400 card but i got an adapter to connect it to the firewire 800 port on my macbook pro (this was a suggested solution on the focusrite website). But nothing is working. Yes the device turns on. but it is not recognized in any of my audio applications. I am currently using the 13" Mid 2009 Macbook Pro. Anyone that has a macbook pro at this time could you let me know what soundcards you are using. or a possible solution to my problem? your help will be greatly appreciated. thanks!
