going insane...apc40 won't map..

Hello - I've looked around online for this but am coming up empty. Just picked up the APC40 and am attempting to custom map it. In the past, all I've had to do is hit the midi button and click the intended button and turn the appropriate knob to change it. With the apc40, nothing is happening. midi button on highlights the screen but when i move the knob I want to map, it does nothing. I'm trying to turn the "track control" pan into hi and lo eq for 4 tracks. Seems like something extremely simple that I'm overlooking and am going insane trying to figure it out. Macbook Pro i7, 8 GB Ram, Ableton 8.2.2, APC40. THANKS!!

Is remote set to on in the midi preferences?

If youve installed a new version of live sometimes it'll have been reset to off....

No worries, remember to deselect "select on launch" option in preferences as well (most common question asked about APC40!)
